Join Our Team

Your Own Place are recruiting a new member of staff to join our small and mighty team and help achieve our mission of preventing homelessness.
Everything Your Own Place does starts with values, relationships, quality, impact and trust. From a place of equity, empathy, empowerment and informed by lived experience, Your Own Place listens and delivers the flexible approach that people themselves say they need.
We work with housing associations, local authorities, social services, third-sector partners, prisons, education providers and other partners to reach people most at risk of homelessness. Whether workshops aim to help people to access housing, move on from homelessness or supported accommodation, successfully move-on from custody or support people on low incomes, our approach is to build on the knowledge in the room. Instead of doing things FOR people, we build their independence and resilience by working restoratively and doing things WITH them. At Your Own Place, we spotlight skills and strengths, building on their positives using an asset-based approach.

We are a sustainable social business because our facilitators deliver high quality and professional workshops to people who matter – this impact is what makes our work unique and people empowered in their own lives.

Values
At Your Own Place, we are committed to living our values in everything we do.

More about working with us
Working at Your Own Place is probably unlike anywhere you’ve worked before. We believe great work happens when people feel valued, supported and able to be themselves. That’s why we invest heavily in our team, creating opportunities to learn, reflect, collaborate and grow together.
We make time not only for development and improvement, but also for connection, wellbeing and fun. With flexible working and a culture built on trust, we support people to balance work with the things that matter most in their lives.

Team Development Training
One benefit of working at Your Own Place is that we take five days a year to come together as a team, without the normal workload and workshop delivery, to have a bit of a breather and spend time in collaborative development.

Internal training and development is central to our culture. Together, we create a space where people feel they belong, can be themselves, and are encouraged to share ideas, reflect on practice and learn from one another.
