In her own words: “I started volunteering as a mentor for Your Own Place in June 2015, and have experienced first-hand some of the barriers facing young people and the positive impact that this work can have in breaking those down. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work for a company that holds such a positive belief in the potential of young people. I am passionate about discovering new ways of engaging with young people and new ways of enabling them to realise and achieve their aspirations… Whatever they may be! I feel proud to represent Your Own Place”.

Introducing Stephen Plume
Stephen is Senior Vice Principal at a Norfolk Secondary Academy, the UK’s leading expert on sausages and a keen local food enthusiastic.
Sausagefans.co.uk was set up as a joke over a decade ago after some a casual, pub-based, conversation and soon captured the hearts of sausage enthusiasts from around the World. With their help and support the website grew from a joke into a showcase for over 1300 recommended sausage makers, Stephen found himself invited all over the country to visit sausage makers and competitions. The press even nicknamed Stephen The Sausage King!
As his interest in sausages grew Stephen saw the potential of local food to change lives. As one of man’s great levellers, the not so humble British banger became Stephen’s ambassador for the High Street and helps him spread the word about local food producers up and down the country.
Stephen is believes in the power of people and that with the right help and support everyone can reach their highest potential. He is passionate about addressing disadvantage and ensuring that all can succeed.
Stephen lives in South Norfolk with his wife, four children and two guinea pigs. He was absolutely delighted to assist Your Own Place as a Board Member in the next phase of its growth & development; for him it brings together the power of people, in his adopted county, focusing on support those who most need the support.
